Madeleine Ashton is a Speech and Language Therapist specialising in laryngeal disorders. She qualified in 2008 with a post-graduate degree from City University in London. She is Health and Care Professions Council registered and a Member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists.
Madeleine has worked in London for the NHS at Whipps Cross University Hospital, running the multidisciplinary voice clinic with ENT and managing the voice disorders caseload. She also worked on the acute wards with patients who had swallowing or communication difficulties. She continued this work in Australia at Logan Hospital and The Prince Charles Hospital in Brisbane. There, Madeleine also ran a specialist clinic for clients with swallowing difficulties related to respiratory problems and paradoxical vocal cord motion (PVCM). As well as running Voice Box, she currently works part time at an NHS hospital.
Madeleine also has advanced competency in managing patients with tracheostomies. She is experienced in managing complex voice and swallowing disorders and interpreting videoflouroscopy (modified barium swallow) imaging.
Additionally Madeleine has worked in Paediatrics in a range of settings including community and special needs.
Madeleine lives in Bristol with her husband and daughter after re-settling back in the UK in 2014.
